Municipality made up of 2 villages, Espot and Estaís, with an area of 97.37 km² and 362 inhabitants. Located in the valley with the same name formed by the Escrita river, which descends to the St. Maurici lake and its canyons.

ESPOT (1.318 m.).
Espot town is divided into two distinct neighborhoods linked by the Chapel bridge: a higher and sunny part is called “Espot Solau” and one to the right of the river called “Espot Obago”.

-In the district there are the hydroelectric plants of Lladres, Sant Maurici, Torrassa and Espot. They are not open to the public .

National Park of Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici: Unique National Park in Catalonia, took part in the regions of Pallars Sobirà and Alta Ribagorça, and its area of influence reaches Pallars Jussà and Aran Valley. It’s a magnificent reserve of the features of the Pyrenean mountain due to its geological formations and their flora and fauna.

The Valley of Espot is the gateway of the East Park. This part covers the high current of rivers Escrita and Peguera, the Lake of St. Maurici, the peak of Encantats, and also the side valleys, and lakes Monestero, Subenuix, Ratera and Amitges.

Espot Esquí: Wintersport station located two miles away from Espot. Familiar stantion especially apprecitated for those skiers who seek tranquility and for their families, because they found here an ideal place for skiing.
